{"id":1736,"date":"2024-06-15T17:34:45","date_gmt":"2024-06-15T14:34:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arab-forum.org\/?post_type=publication&#038;p=1736"},"modified":"2024-09-22T22:24:22","modified_gmt":"2024-09-22T19:24:22","slug":"the-challenges-of-economic-development-in-arab-local-authorities","status":"publish","type":"publication","link":"https:\/\/arab-forum.org\/en\/research\/the-challenges-of-economic-development-in-arab-local-authorities\/","title":{"rendered":"The challenges of economic development in Arab local authorities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Very disturbing results appeared in the latest study conducted by the Arab Economic Forum on the opening of economic opportunities in Arab society<br \/>\nThe results of the study show that the Arab local councils in particular encounter many challenges in their efforts after economic growth and prosperity, which imposes restrictions on the ability to develop economic opportunities in the Arab cities compared to the Jewish cities.<br \/>\nThe main reason behind the restrictions and the continued lack of economic opportunities in Arab cities involves the huge difference in data between the Arab cities and the Jewish cities**<br \/>\nIt turns out that the percentage of Arabs living in cities is only 45%, while the percentage of Jews living in cities reaches 82%!<br \/>\nFurthermore, the relatively small average for the number of residents in 13 Arab cities does not exceed 42.3 thousand people!<br \/>\nIt is also worth noting that the survey conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics in 2019 on 254 local councils shows that:<\/p>\n<p>The average collection per citizen in the Arab cities is 894 NIS compared to 3724 NIS in the Jewish cities.<br \/>\nThe average levy on housing in the Arab cities is 46% compared to 76% in the Jewish cities.<br \/>\nThe average area size of the non-residential buildings on which property tax was imposed in the Arab cities is 34.4% compared to 61% in the Jewish cities.<br \/>\nThe average property tax revenue from non-residential buildings in Arab cities is 19% compared to 43% in Jewish cities.<br \/>\nFinally, the data of the Ministry of the Interior show that there is an accountant escort in about 73% of the Arab cities compared to only 10% in the Jewish cities.<br \/>\nAll of these and other data have a direct and sweeping effect on the ability to develop economic opportunities in the Arab cities<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1754,"template":"","publication_category":[100],"class_list":["post-1736","publication","type-publication","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","publication_category-economical-development"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.7 -
